It's a busy month at Shelf Life!
The first Saturday is packed full of good stuff. Shelf Life is collecting gardening and plant books for the next River-City Cleanup. There's a donation drive and fundraiser at the store for one of my favorite local nonprofits. And the store will have a brief break.----Let's start with the last- Shelf Life will be closed May 19th thru the 28th and resume regular hours Wed-Fri noon to 6 and Sat 11 to 6 on the 29th. I will not be available for drop offs during this time but will be checking email and can schedule for times after reopening.

Saturday, May 4th is a huge day!
The inaugural GALACTIC GATHERINGS DTCF! Many of the businesses are passport participants, including Shelf Life. Grab your passport from Mr. Fun's, Crave, The Works, Natural Wonders, or Tiki Underground! Check out the event page here! Galactic Gathering
It's also FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! JC Comics and Anime has generously sponsored Shelf Life again this year to extend the event to store patrons! Free comics will be available at both Shelf Life & JC Comics while supplies last. Check out JC at 2609 State Road, open from 11 to 7!
Shelf Life will have a RAFFLE! I'll be raffling off a copy of The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, which contains all five books of the trilogy (you read that right, Adams was pretty funny, and if that's your thing- you'll love the Hitchhiker's Guide). Every $10 you spend at the store is one raffle entry!
In addition to the raffle, there will be a SCI-FI/FANTASY TAKEOVER. It's been awhile since one of these has happened! I've been back-stocking some really great titles and authors for this occasion! The store will be open from 11 to 6 on Saturday.

Now through May 16th, Shelf Life is accepting donations of gently used gardening and plant books for the volunteers of the next River-City Cleanup on May 18th at Mudbrook Greenway Trail. For more information, cityofcf.com/cleanups

May 8th thru 18th Shelf Life will host a Baby Board Book Drive & Fundraiser for Bright Star Books. This amazing organization is celebrating their 10th Anniversary! In 10 years, they have gifted more than 350,000 books to families in limited resource situations. They're dedication and effort has consistently served the childhood literacy and book accessibility needs of our community for a decade. I could not be more excited about this drive! Supporters can drop off books anytime the store is open between the 8th and 18th. In addition, if you'd like to order books for this, there is a registry at bit.ly/BSBdrive All books will be shipped directly to the store, and the generous 30% commission that bookshop.org gives Shelf Life for every purchase will be donated in full to Bright Star Books!
